Assuming the Recovery Position

A couple of tulips in fiery coloursPredictably enough, I have been fantastically tired and I'm sure there are still a few BADD posts I haven't read properly yet. However, I reckon this was the best year ever as far as quality was concerned. Thanks again to everyone who contributed or helped in any way. Some people did absolutely loads - you know who you are - but everyone who chirped up to point out a typo in my code made a big difference (especially to whoever's link I had botched).

Once again, I didn't have a chance to post anything myself - although unlike last year, I might have got my post finished in time if I was just a tad better organised. Between now and this time next year, I intend to build a robot who can put all the links together for me. That or figure out some javascript to automate the archive.

In other news, summer has properly arrived and I realise that I didn't fix any of the holes and torn seams in my summer clothes before putting them away for the winter. So I have a wee bit of sewing to do.

You're amazing. Seriously. I am not yet halfway through reading the BADD posts. I am persistent though. So eventually.

My pet code monkey says it should definitely be possible. The only issues are likely to be co-ordinating it with the Blogger/Blogspot interface; and keeping out automated spam/dodgy links. There was more - but I've had too much cocodamol to follow it, you know how it is.

He's having a tinker and explore of Blogger via my account as I type this.

Kay - thank you. :-)

Mary - yeah, AJ said much the same, that there must be a way of doing it but it would involve using techno-doodah on an external server. There's no great hurry now, but thank your monkey for looking.

Automated spam wouldn't be too much of a problem because (a) the form would only need to be up for a few days around May 1st, during which time robots might never find it and (b) I would be able to monitor what was coming in myself, so (as long as I had that level of control) I could take down anything inappropriate - just as I could correct anywhere where a genuine person had made an error.

Thanks for all your hard work on this great collection. You did a brilliant job. I hope you've been able to rest your BADD self.

BRILLIANT, thanks Goldfish and everybody who contributed you have inspired and are helping me.

Ok so a late BADD post, I deleted the first as we seem to be in the midst of a brewing major legal battle but have on after thought reposted.
A post which no doubt will be used against me but enjoy and hopefully learn

You did such a great job, and such a lot of work! Thank you so much!

Also, I love this photo.

As for automating, Mrs. Kennedy ran into a similar problem (minus "the lurgy," of course) when she initiated NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) as an alternative to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) -- November in both cases. What she did was set up a community on Ning. It's an option. You may still need a pet code monkey to help you with it, depending on what exactly you want to do with it. Also, I have no idea how accessible Ning might be for everyone.

Rest well, my dear. Just be careful with the napping and the sewing needles, okay? ;)

Congratulations on a great achievement. I really enjoyed 'meeting new people' through contributing and looking at other perspectives. Sadly I haven't had nearly enough oomph to read as many as I wanted and to post links.

Have a good rest now and recuperate.
[God you're so organised. Fancy having the wherewithall to put summer clothes away at the change of seasons and them ending them. I just shove the same old clobber on come rain or shine --- less or more ;0) ]

A fantastic achievement, I personally can't imagine the effort required, but I so thank you for doing it. There is so much great stuff here to read, it is a remarkable resource.
