Style Tip #387

You may be feeling a bit low about your appearance, the fact you are living in nightclothes and how the act of bathing and washing your hair is using up all your energy. When a bald man, who thinks that European culture reached its aesthetic peak in the mid-eighties offers to cut your hair, the words, “Do what you like, I’m not vain.” may spring to mind. But really girls, don’t be tempted. Learn from my mistake.

Afterwards AJ said, “I don’t know why I’m no good cutting hair. I mean, I am good at everything else. Wait until it grows a bit and I’ll try again.”

But really, I can’t bring myself to care. AJ and the postmen are the only people who ever set eyes on me. And it is overall shorter so it did dry much more quickly after I washed it, which is frankly the main thing. Is that sad? Am I perhaps too young to rate practicality in my hairstyle above everything else? Well, it is practical, but it is also very different. I have honestly never seen anyone with a hairstyle resembling this. And it kind of works with the whole zombie chic look I am currently working on. I am sure Trinny and Susannah would not approve.

Goldfish - chain AJ to the sink, or door frame, don't let him near scissors ever again, and phone a mobile lady hairdresser to come to your home. I speak from experience !

I've always said, especially after cutting someone's hair, that the difference between a good haircut and a bad one is three days. Give it a while. It might grow on you.

Get it - grow on you? I'm so funny!!

I agree to Sally - and I am dying to learn more about "Zombie Chic"!

OR you could just shave it off. I know that might seem extreme, and I have no idea how it would go over in the UK, or how it jives with your style, but I shaved my head a few years ago (I had about a half-inch of hair) and it was fantastic. It's super easy to cut - just go at it with clippers. Surely AJ can use clippers well?

Hmm, shaved head... Well I did have a poll last year about what should be done with my then very long hair, and you can see what I would look like with a shaved head. ;-)

I feel the pixellated skin might actually be very interesting if you could achieve that affect in real life. Just imagine! It'd be like living a William Gibson novel.

:)

If you have just a bit of hair it's fun to rub - like a little Brillo pad on your skull, but softer.
